Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect, I am kind of nervous?

First of all, you can expect Michael to understand that you might be nervous. You can expect him to act professionally at all times. You can expect that once you're here, you will relax, the nervousness will pass and that you'll feel good about yourself. Last, and most important, you can expect to have photographs that are tasteful, and memories that you will be proud of for the rest of your life.

I'm getting married and want to do photographs as a wedding present from the bride to be to groom. What do you suggest?

This is quite the trend today. Some women prefer a semi-nude or nude fine art photograph that they can hang in their bedroom in which they may or may not be recognized; others prefer to do a series of photographs and put them in an album for their private viewing; many do a combination of both.

But I am not a model and am little self-conscious but want a gift for my loved one.

Our photography is very specialized. It's for men and women who want to share their bodies with their significant other. You know what they like about you, so focus on that. Sometimes a piece of your lingerie or black lace can be strategically placed over what you would want to cover up. In most cases, they love you and that includes all of you! And all final images are completely retouched so you look your very best.

Do you photograph couples?

Yes, I also offer couples sessions were I can create sensual fine art photographs of the intimacy of your relationship. My clients have told me that my style has enabled them bare as much they felt comfortable, confident in my ability to produce flattering artistic portraits, regardless of their age or body shape.

Do you do erotic photography?

Yes, some of my clients wish to do something a bit different and risque. Erotic photography is about having fun and being playful, pushing the envelope and creating something truly unique.

Is it possible to do an artistic photograph that is provocative…but tasteful?

Absolutely. In fact that may be the most popular of all our photo shoots. Consider the woman who wore her full length fur coat with nothing else on but a pair of high heels and black stockings…all you see is her face, her legs, and part of her breast…She has a very sensual, mysterious, elegant, and a very artistic photograph. She also has a timeless and tasteful work of art.

How long will the photo shoot last?

On average one and a half to two hours. If you're having your make-up done, add an extra hour.

Do you provide a make-up artist?

If you do not want to do your own make-up, I have made arrangements for your hair and make-up to be done at La Bella Vita Salon & Spa. They know how to do make-up for photography and have worked with Michael on many occasions.  The professionals at La Bella Vita Salon & Spa will enhance your best features and give you the exact look you want, whether natural, evening, sultry, classic, dramatic or glamorous.

Who will take my photographs?

All the photographs are taken by studio owner and photographic artist Michael Barone. You will feel comfortable and be treated with respect. Michael’s job is to create a photograph for you that is tasteful and will be a work of art. He has photographed hundreds of women in the nude in his 20 plus years. If we want to use any photograph that we take for any purpose, we must have the person we are photographing sign what is called a “Model Release.” Your photographs are for your use, not for our use. We operate on a totally professional basis and have a signed model release for every photograph which appears on our website, portfolio, or in our studio.

How many poses can I do?

Michael’s goal is to give you approximately 300 images to choose from ranging from dozens of poses. This gives you the greatest flexibility in choosing a gift for that special someone.

How many outfits can I change into?

Bring as many outfits as you'd like. You can make your final selection as to what you'll wear once you are here. It's always better to have more to choose from, rather than not enough.

How much time do I need to allow from the time of the photo shoot to when I can pick up my photographs?

Your proofs will be ready to view within a week, then depending on what you choose it could be another week or two before the final product is complete. Please keep in mind there are variables beyond our control, like holidays and vacations.

How far in advance should I schedule my photo shoot?

It can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months to get an appointment depending on the time of year.  Michael has been shooting for over 20 years and his reputation keeps him busy. Once you're in his calendar, you'll have preferential treatment if you need to reschedule.

I have no idea of what to wear or bring, do you have any ideas?
